VI Women’s Softball Team defeats St Maarten for 2nd straight victory

The [British] Virgin Islands Women’s Softball Team has now made it 2 in 2 after defeating St Maarten in the 2023 Eastern Caribbean Amateur Softball Confederation Tournament in St John, US Virgin Islands (USVI) today, March 2, 2023.

Coming off the heels of an impressive victory against Jamaica on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, the VI women delivered another sensational performance this afternoon, winning via mercy rule in the fourth inning, 11 runs to St Maarten’s 1.

Javlyn Frett was voted Player of the Match for her precise pitching and for staying in the game, despite suffering an injury to her leg.

The VI Women will have a busy day tomorrow, as they play two games- against Aruba at 2:00 PM and hosts USVI at 5:00 PM.

The [British] Virgin Islands started their campaign in the Eastern Caribbean Amateur Softball Confederation’s Women’s Fast-Pitch Tournament Qualifier with a convincing victory on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Sheniqua Fahie got the win, allowing just one runner on base (by a walk) before ending the top of the third with a strikeout.
