In response to President Donald Trump's assertion that former President Barack Obama should be investigated, Attorney General William Barr explained that he wouldn't comment on the matter, but said that these types of political investigations are "not good for the criminal justice system."
“we see increasing attempts to use the criminal justice system as a political weapon.”
“The legal tactic has been to gin up allegations of criminality by one’s political opponents based on the flimsiest of legal theories,” Barr said. “This is not a good development.”
Mr. Barr said exactly the same one year ego, during his testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
