Zendaya Shows Off the New Golden Structure Trend

Zendaya Shows Off the New Golden Structure Trend

Zendaya, Chiara Ferragni, and more are already working gold into their looks.

Zendaya attended the Women in Film Awards last Wednesday, October 6. For the event's red carpet, the 25-year-old actress chose a piece just shown on the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week: a dress from Loewe's Spring/Sumer 2022 collection. The sculptural piece reminded us of the pink, Tom Ford look she wore at the Critics Choice Awards in January 2020.

In recent seasons, several celebrities and brands have designed accessories and clothing pieces that look like real works of art. Many were influenced by the surrealistic work that Daniel Roseberry has been doing for Schiaparelli.

Despite its innovative aesthetic, this type of design has been used in fashion for centuries; we don't have to go far back in time to see similar pieces. Yves Saint Laurent walked sculptural tops in his Fall/Winter 2002 Haute Couture runway, just before he retired.

Issey Miyake mastered the art of exploring body shapes in her 1980s collections. Alexander McQueen was also fascinated by the female figure and took part in the aesthetic trend.

Now, in 2021, celebrities like Chiara Ferragni, Cardi B, and Bella Hadid show how to bring this "trend" to the red carpet!

Below, L'OFFICIEL lists the pieces that deserve to be remembered. Check it out and get inspired!
