A Modern Manor by Gwathmey Siegel in New Jersey

A Modern Manor by Gwathmey Siegel in New Jersey

Designed by the firm behind the Guggenheim’s 1992 addition, this stately home soars with a double-height rotunda.

Just 35 miles from Manhattan in Harding Township, New Jersey, a spectacular home designed by Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman Architects-the firm behind the 1992 addition to the Guggenheim Museum-has hit the market, offering an impressive 14,265 square feet of space and seven bedrooms.

Completed in 1994, 75 Sand Spring Road is organized across three wings and boasts an indoor sports court, outdoor pool complex and guesthouse, and a regulation-size tennis court.

Encased in glass and illuminated by a massive skylight, a double-height rotunda provides a fireside living space flanked by sitting and dining areas. Beaming with natural light, this room offers views of the clouds above and the surrounding lawn beyond.

The double-height rotunda is capped with a generous skylight.

A fireplace anchors the light-flooded living space.

Adjacent to the main living space, a chef’s kitchen comes equipped with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, a Wolf steam oven and microwave, four Fisher & Paykel dishwashers, a Thermador range with two ovens and a warming drawer, and a Gaggenau two-burner cooktop on the island. A dumbwaiter services all three floors of the home.

Stainless steel appliances are set against wood, marble, and slate floors; Thassos marble tiles clad the wall. Two built-in pantries and a walk-in pantry allow for ample storage without clutter.

The eat-in kitchen flows cleanly into the verdant grounds.

The main house is divided across three wings with three separate staircases. Six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms-two on the main floor, two on the second floor, and an au pair suite on the lower level-offer owners ample space to host while safeguarding moments of seclusion. Signature built-ins give each bedroom a polished, minimalist feel.

Ebonized cherry built-ins with recessed round pulls are standard throughout the home.

A private, winding staircase leads to the second-floor primary suite that opens teak terrace perfect for morning coffee or an evening meditation.

Adjacent to the spacious main bedroom, a stately bathroom features two marble showers, a deep jetted tub, and stainless steel cabinets. Adjoining closets provide generous space for organization.

The home’s hallways recall New York’s most refined galleries. Fitted with built-ins, these passages lead to the bedrooms, a second-floor office, a kitchenette, and an additional laundry area.

Working remotely is not a problem with 75 Sand Spring Road’s well appointed office.

On the home’s lower level, you’ll discover an intimate family room with a full bar and views of the indoor half court.

The family room is a cozy entertainment room equipped with a full bar.

The home includes a full gym complete with a sauna, steam shower, and Jacuzzi tub. An indoor sport court provides opportunity for basketball and tennis year round.

A teak rooftop terrace provides views of the property’s near 16 acres, which includes a full-size tennis court and a heated pool with hot tub.

The heated pool and hot tub are illuminated at night.

A separate pool house features a kitchen, en-suite bedroom, laundry area, and full bathroom. From swanky soirées to summer barbecues, this yard is an entertainer’s dream.

The pool house doubles as guest quarters.

So, what's happened is, I think, government policy, not just under Labour, but under the Conservatives as well, has driven a lot of small landlords out of business.
