Amazon Mandates Full Return to Office for Employees
Amazon mandates a full return to the office for corporate staff starting January 2, 2025, citing the benefits of in-office work. This follows a broader trend among companies scaling back remote work policies. Exceptions will be allowed only in special circumstances.
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced that corporate employees must return to the office five days a week starting January 2, 2025.
Previously, employees were required to be in the office three days a week.
Jassy cited the benefits of in-office work, such as cultural integration, collaboration, and efficiency.
This change follows similar moves by companies like SAP, AT&T, and Dell, which are scaling back remote work.
Even remote work pioneer Zoom has begun calling employees back part-time.
The policy allows exceptions only under extenuating circumstances or with managerial approval.
