Annual Leverick Bay Poker Run returning for 2023

Annual Leverick Bay Poker Run returning for 2023

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Leverick Bay Resort and Marina is back for its 19th Annual Leverick Bay Poker Run, on Sunday, May 28th, 2023.

A release from the organizers added, "We are excited to have new stops on this year’s Poker Run, including Loose Mongoose and Saba Rock, and we are grateful for the continued support of Pirate’s on Norman Island, Foxy’s Taboo on Jost Van Dyke, and the Tortola Pier Park. The event would not be possible without the support from these venues."

The after-party at Leverick Bay is powered by Mr. Nice Guy and begins at 5 pm with the Fashion Show and followed by buffet, drinks, and the prize-giving ceremony at 7pm. Organizers added that in 2019, they welcomed a record number of participants to the Poker Run, with approximately 150 boats in attendance and a crowd of some 2,000 guests at Leverick Bay, with more spectators at each stop across the territory.

The 2019 run moved off from Leverick Bay this morning and will touch more stops in Virgin Gorda, at Foxy's Taboo, and at Foxy's Bar.

2023 projected to be bigger than ever!

"We anticipate 2023 to be an even bigger year, as we welcome everyone back after a long hiatus. An enormous thank-you to sponsors and volunteers, who generously gave their time, sponsorship dollars and in-kind gifts – without them the event could not happen.

For this year's 2023 event, net proceeds from the event will be distributed to the Virgin Gorda Charitable Trust, which in turn will make announcements regarding additional contributions to local charities including the Animal Rescue Control of Virgin Gorda and others.

In 2019, a donation of $31,000 was given to the Trust, with cumulative donations exceeding $155,000 USD since the inception of the event with a prize giving of $16,000 distributed to three winners
