Bafta 2025: Conclave and The Brutalist Stand Out at the Awards Ceremony

Conclave and The Brutalist each secure four awards at the 2025 Bafta Film Awards, highlighting significant directorial achievements and performances.
The 2025 Bafta Film Awards took place in London on February 18, celebrating outstanding achievements in film over the past year.

Among the night’s notable winners were Conclave and The Brutalist, which both secured four prestigious awards each.

Conclave, directed by German filmmaker Edward Berger, garnered acclaim for its narrative and production, winning awards for Best Film and Best British Film.

In addition to these top honors, the film also received recognition for its screenplay and cinematography.

The Brutalist, directed by American filmmaker Brady Corbet, was also a significant contender at the ceremony.

Corbet was awarded Best Director, while Adrien Brody received the Best Actor award for his role as László Tóth, a Hungarian architect and Holocaust survivor.

The film's exploration of personal and historical themes resonated with audiences and critics alike.

This year’s Bafta Awards highlighted a diverse range of cinematic works, reflecting both international talent and the vibrant film industry.

The event is considered a key indicator of the film landscape leading up to the Academy Awards, given its prominence in honoring both British and international cinema.

The awards, voted on by members of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), are respected for their recognition of both established and emerging talent, underscoring the evolving narratives being shared on screen.
