CGB Baptist Church to house Enis Adams Primary students

CGB Baptist Church to house Enis Adams Primary students

As works continue on the second floor of the Enis Adams Primary School (EAPS) building in Meyers Estate, a contingency plan has been put in place where additional space has been secured at the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola.

Minister of Education, Culture, Youth affairs, and sports Honourable Sharie B. de Castro (AL) revealed that the plan was brought into motion after persons expressed concerns about having a section of students attend half day while work on the school building was being completed.

Hon de Castro said with advice from the Principals, the Ministry of Education approached the leadership of the Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church in an effort to secure additional space for the school to use.

“I am pleased to report that the CGBBC graciously agreed to allow for the use of the Annex which includes classrooms and a hall for the period of 12th September to 9th December, while the second-floor classrooms at the EAPS site are under construction,” she said.

Minister of Education, Culture, Youth affairs and sports Honourable Sharie B. de Castro said the plan to use the church was brought into motion after concerns were raised about half day school.

Arrangements will allow full-time schooling

This arrangement allows all students from Enis Adams Primary School and Althea Scatliffe Primary School (ASPS) to attend full-day sessions during the construction period.

She said with the arrangement, two grade five and three grade six groups will be stationed at the Cane Garden Bay Church Annex from 8:40 am to 3:15 pm daily. One Administrator and a senior teacher will oversee this section of the school during this time. All classes, including Music, P.E., and Spanish will take place there.

Hon de Castro added that other students will attend classes at the Enis Adams campus from 8:40 am to 3:15 pm daily. Classes will begin on September 12, 2022, for both locations.

The Education Minister said transportation will be provided from the Festival Grounds in Road Town to the school and the church facility daily. The drop-off time will be 8:00 am and pick-up time is 3:50 pm.
