CIA Official Arrested for Leaking Intelligence on Israel-Iran Conflict
Classified documents revealed Israel's potential strike plans on Iran, leading to arrest
A CIA official, Asif Rahman, has been charged with leaking classified US documents detailing Israel’s plans for a possible retaliatory strike on Iran.
Arrested by the FBI in Cambodia, Rahman is scheduled to appear in a federal court in Guam.
He was indicted in Virginia for willfully retaining and transmitting national intelligence information.
The intelligence documents, shared on the Telegram app by an account named Middle East Spectator, outlined Israeli preparations without specifying targets.
This incident follows events on October 1, when Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, retaliating for the assassination of Tehran-backed leaders in Hamas and Hezbollah.
Israel later conducted strikes on Iranian military targets.
