Fahie secures $500K bail funding from local businessman

Ex-Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1), through his counsel has filed court documents to meet the satisfaction of a Nebbia Proffer requirement as a condition of the $500,000.00 corporate surety bond.

The Ex-Premier was arrested in Florida, United States on charges of drug smuggling and money laundering, alongside his Ports Director, Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard in a US sting operation.

Fahie was offered bail in the sum of $1,000,000 with a Nebbia condition for half of the funds and a disclosure of the source of funding.

The Nebbia satisfaction consists of the Affidavit of Albion ‘Bobby’ Hodge in support of the evidence of the source of funds used to pay for the premium for the corporate surety bond in place for Es-Premier Fahie.

Hodge releveled that he is one of four (4) siblings and is a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States of America as well as a childhood friend of Hon Fahie through family connections.

Source of funds disclosed

“I have several businesses that operate in the VI and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These businesses include Stanley's Welcome Villas in Cane Garden Bay, VI; Carrie's Comfort Inn, Cane Garden Bay VT; the CSY Marina (where my ferry boats are moored); BVI Spring Water (a water bottling and sale concern)2; a thirty (30)Hertz Rental Car franchise; CSY Oxygen Company (supplying hospitals and medical facilities); and a residence in Cane Garden Bay, BVI valued at approximately $2,500,000.00,” the document states.

Hodge also indicated that included in his business holdings is Caribbean Maritime Excursions, Inc "CME".

He said CME is a for-profit corporation registered under the laws of the USVI and has been registered since 2003 and is currently active.

CME is owned by a holding company, Road Town Fast Ferry Services, LTD, which is the VI holding company for CME and is the titled owner of one or more vessels operated in connection with the entity's established and popular ferry services.

Hodge also indicated that his estimated net worth is US $30M.

With Hon Fahie’s case set for July 18, 2022, the US courts will have to indicate whether they accepted the proffer to offer the ex-Premier some freedom ahead of the trial.
