Final CoI Report handed over to Governor Rankin

The final report of the controversial Commission of Inquiry (CoI) into governance in the Virgin Islands has been handed over to the United Kingdom-appointed Governor John J. Rankin, CMG by lone commissioner and UK national Sir Gary R. Hickinbottom.

This was revealed by Governor Rankin in a press release today, April 5, 2022.

The Commission’s Report, according to Governor Rankin, is long and detailed with almost 1,000 pages and over 40 recommendations.

“I appreciate that there is a lot of interest in the Report, but I hope you will understand that I will need some time to read and consider the findings and all of the Commissioner’s recommendations.”

Meanwhile, Governor Rankin said he will not be making any further statements on the Report until he has gone through the report and consider the findings and recommendations.

The Final CoI Report had an initial deadline of January 2022 but was delayed to April 2022.
