Andrew Fahie, the former Premier of the British Virgin Islands, has filed an unopposed motion to change his trial date from mid-July to November 2023.
The reason for the delay is the earlier change of plea by his two co-accused, who pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to import cocaine.
Fahie also pointed out that he has not yet received the identity of the prosecution's confidential source, which he needs to file pre-trial motions.
The prosecution has agreed to the delay, despite disagreeing with the merits of
Fahie's pre-trial motions.
Fahie wants the trial to be rescheduled for no sooner than November 1, 2023.
