Francis Lettsome Primary School is 2023 Foreign Language Bowl winner

Students from the Francis Lettsome Primary School have taken the winning spot in the Foreign Language Bowl 2023 for primary schools, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports to introduce students to a second language, namely Spanish or French.

Education Minister Hon Sharie B. de Castro said the event held yesterday, May 3, 2023, was a success, with some 27 students partaking in the competition.

“The National Foreign Language Bowl (Primary) was a huge success today as we promoted Spanish as a second language in order to increase students’ fluency and diction in Spanish. The competition was open to students from Grades 4 - 6 from public and private primary schools. Twenty-seven (27) students took part in the competition,” Hon de Castro said in a social media post.

Students representing Robinson O'Neal Memorial Primary who placed second were Shadia Sanchez, Tylisha Isaac and Kayli Whyli.
