Hollywood executive accused of raping three women arrested

David Guillod, an executive producer and talent agent in Hollywood, surrendered to authorities on Monday after being accused of raping three women between 2012 and 2015, his lawyer reported.
Guillod turned himself in the morning to the Santa Barbara Sheriff, accompanied by his attorney, Philip Kent Cohen.

Cohen told AFP that his client denies all charges and that "he hopes he can clear his name in the appropriate forum."

"Mr. Guillod has been vilified for eight years without having the opportunity to face his accusers under oath in court. Justice is seldom quick and often is not easy," said Cohen.

The producer of films like "Atomic" with Charlize Theron, and "Extraction" with Chris Hemsworth, faces a total of 11 counts of rape, kidnapping to rape, and rape of a person under the influence of drugs in three separate incidents in 2012, 2014 and 2015, reported the local press.

The prosecution did not respond to AFP's request for access to a copy of the accusation.

"Ted" actress Jessica Barth accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her. Barth alleged that the incident occurred in 2012.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles police, but was closed two years later. Barth went public with the accusation in 2017, following the #MeToo movement, and after another actress contacted her with a similar account.

Guillod resigned as CEO of Primal Wave Entertainment shortly after.

The other two rapes reportedly occurred in 2014 and 2015 in Santa Barbara against unidentified women.

One of the victims, who was her employee, received $ 60,000 to sign a confidentiality agreement, but reported it following the example of other women.

"An overwhelming amount of evidence has been gathered in the course of this investigation to dispute these charges," the attorney said, noting that DNA tests have been negative and that witnesses have corroborated Guillod's version of events.

"Numerous text messages and emails obtained by the defense tell a very different story than the one alleged," added Cohen.
