In what he described as his bon voyage speech in the House of Assembly on March 2, 2023, Fourth District Representative Honourable Mark H. Vanterpool expressed gratitude to those who worked and supported him over his 25 years in politics.
“I’m making this my bon voyage speech, Madam Speaker, as this is my last time, in the next few weeks I should [no longer be] be representing my people. Some people say it is yet to be seen because Nomination Day is not here yet, but we should always leave those things open.
“But I want to tell my people of the Fourth District, thank you for your support always and the people of the Virgin Islands who supported me over the years…” Hon Vanterpool said at the Continuation of the Third Sitting of the Fifth Session of the Fourth HoA in Road Town.
The long-serving legislator said while it was a pleasure, it was not always fun representing the people and doing the work but he loved the challenge.
