New York Enacts Landmark Anti-Discrimination Law

New York Enacts Landmark Anti-Discrimination Law

New York has made it illegal to discriminate based on a person's height or weight in matters of employment, housing, and public accommodation.
The bill was signed into law by Mayor Eric Adams and will be enforced by the New York Commission on Human Rights.

Critics argue that the law could lead to a flood of lawsuits, but the mayor believes that it is a fair and necessary measure to promote equality.

Similar laws are already in place in other states.
