No evidence missing duo boarded any vessel or left VI- RVIPF

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has now said it cannot confirm that missing men, Keevin Walker and Cleofoster Williams Jr boarded any vessel or exited the territory.

Police in a press release on July 20, 2022, said reports were received on July 19, 2022, that the two men, Keevin Walker and Cleofoster Williams Jr, had reportedly boarded a vessel at Hodges Creek on Sunday, July 17, 2022, and have not been seen since.

The RVIPF stated today, July 27, 2022; however, that while the two men are alleged to have boarded a vessel in the East End area on that Sunday, so far detectives have no confirmation that the two left the Territory and no evidence of a missing boat.

Neither Walker nor Williams is said to have owned a boat, the RVIPF noted.

Police reaches out to other countries for help

According to today’s press release, The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Intelligence Unit have notified counterparts in St Maarten and other Caribbean islands with photos of the missing men.

It said general searches were carried out by the Marine Branch as well as the Virgin Islands Search and Rescue and are still ongoing within the Territory’s waters for any evidence that could help with the investigations.

Very little info forthcoming- RVIPF

Head of the Criminal Investigations Unit Gilbert Charles noted that the public’s cooperation is essential in advancing inquiries.

“In order to move forward with our investigations, we need witnesses to the men’s movements prior to Sunday (July 17) and on the day they were last seen. We need to know whether either or both were seen in the company of another person. Very little information is forthcoming and without that information, we have no way of narrowing a search area," Mr Charles stated.

Police are asking anyone who had contact or may know the whereabouts of these two men to telephone the RVIPF via its three-digit access number 311 or call the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

Captains and boaters are asked to continue to be on the lookout while travelling through the Territory’s waters.
