Over 300 persons in the BVI now fully vaccinated against COVID

Some 351 persons in the British Virgin Islands have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This is according to the territory’s epidemiological summary as of Tuesday, April 27.

It said a total of 10,234 persons in the territory have received the first dose, so far.

Of that number, 8,425 are on Tortola and 294 of them have received their second dose. Over on Virgin Gorda, 1,281 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine while 57 have gotten their second jab.

Another 100 persons have been vaccinated on Anegada while Jost Van Dyke has 77 vaccinated persons. No second doses have been administered on either those sister islands as yet.

Just recently, Health Minister announced that starting May 15, fully vaccinated day-trippers travelling from the BVI to select neighbouring jurisdictions will no longer be required to quarantine when they return from their travels.

COVID cases


Meanwhile, there are currently four active COVID-19 cases in the BVI.

The cases are located on the main island of Tortola and all are said to be asymptomatic.

The BVI has recorded a total of 194 COVID-19 cases so far. Only one person has died from the virus locally.
