Police in a press release today, September 2, 2022, said the driver, Casheem Walter, 30, of Josiah Bay was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of cannabis and two counts of possession of cannabis with intent to supply after over 500 grams of the controlled drug and a quantity of cash were seized.
Walters was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 for his appearance before the Magistrate’s Court on 27 October 2022.
Earlier this week, officers of the Armed Response team also charged a male and female with firearm and drug possession offenses after a routine search of the rental vehicle the couple was in uncovered the illegal items.
A semi-automatic pistol, two loaded magazines with a total of 24 rounds of ammunition. close to 240 grams of suspected cannabis and over $4,000 in cash were also seized. A search of the driver’s accommodations further uncovered a large number of pills suspected to be ecstasy.
