Pope Francis Successfully Undergoes Hernia Surgery and Expected to Make Full Recovery

Pope Francis underwent a successful surgery to repair a hernia and is currently in good condition and alert.
The three-hour operation was performed at a hospital in Rome, and doctors expect him to make a full recovery with no limitations on his travels and activities after he recovers.

Pope Francis is expected to remain in the hospital for about 5-7 days, and there are no medical reasons to change his upcoming travel schedule.

The pope has expressed his gratitude for the well-wishers and asked for continued prayers.

Pope Francis underwent two abdominal surgeries in 2021, the first being a laparotomy to repair a painful, intestinal blockage caused by a weakened abdominal wall.

In July, he had part of his colon removed to address diverticulitis.

These surgeries come as the third hospital stay for Pope Francis since his election in 2013, and are part of a string of health problems he has experienced in recent years.
