Progressive United (PU), the four-year-old political movement founded by senior legislator Hon Julian Fraser RA (R3) is still working to finalise both its At-Large and District candidates for the 2023 elections. This is according to its Chairman Hon Fraser.
Speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO), Hon Fraser said while the names are a work in progress, he won’t divulge any of his candidates just yet; however, he said he expects an election date to come after the House of Assembly dissolves.
“It is not customary to announce elections date so prematurely… what happens first of all the House has to dissolved, not has to but usually this is what happens…and during the time between dissolution and the mandated election deadline, the Premier would announce a date for elections.
"Constitutionally, the House has to dissolve on or before March 12, so I
don’t expect it to dissolve before March 12, if it’s the day before
that’s the earlier I expect it to dissolve and the elections are
constitutionally due by May 12, 2023.”
Progressives United (PU), a political
group was officially launched by Hon Fraser on January 11, 2019, in Sea
Cows Bay on the main Island of Tortola.

CoI reforms) to be done, and he being committed to seeing this work executed, he is going to try to get as much as he can out of the way,” Hon Fraser said.
