PWA Hosts first session in educational series

The Executive of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Police Welfare Association was pleased to host the first of a series of learning/educational initiatives titled “Buying and Building Property in the BVI” on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020.
The event was aimed at educating and informing officers and civilian staff of the RVIPF on the requirements for purchasing property in the BVI. A panel of experts from the legal, banking and construction industry were on hand to advise on the purchasing process from inception to completion.

The two-hour long session provided key insights and details from Head of Property & Business at O’Neal Webster, Ms. Jenelle Archer, Branch Manager at CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, Mr. Fabian Devonish and Architect and Founder of TigerQi Architecture, Ms. Lavina Liburd, and concluded with an interactive question and answer segment. Overall, it was a perfect opportunity for attendees to learn about their options regarding property, as Belongers or Non-Belongers.

Chairman of the Police Welfare Association, Inspector Dean Robin, expressed his appreciation to the panelists for sharing their expertise and knowledge during this challenging time as the BVI, like the rest of the world, grapples with the Covid-19 pandemic. He stated that “the seminar was informative and of great benefit to the members of the RVIPF.” He added that subsequent seminars and workshops on legal, financial and social matters for members of the RVIPF are slated for the remainder of the year.
