Russia Can End the War Now, Says PM as Putin Warns West

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says Russia can end the conflict in Ukraine immediately, deeming their invasion unlawful. His statement comes as President Putin warns that Western missiles in Russia would escalate the war by involving NATO directly. On a diplomatic mission, Starmer stressed the illegal nature of Russia's actions and urged immediate cessation.
Russia 'started' the conflict in Ukraine and can end it 'straight away,' Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer stated during his visit to Washington for talks with U.S. President Joe Biden.

This statement follows Russian President Vladimir Putin's warning that Western missiles fired into Russia would signify direct NATO involvement in the war.

As Kyiv's allies discuss military strategies, Starmer insisted that Russia's unlawful invasion triggered the conflict and that Moscow has the power to cease hostilities immediately.

The Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary David Lammy are engaging in intensive diplomacy, as concerns grow over Iran's increased support for Russia.

Since his election, this is Starmer’s second visit to Washington in over two months, and he will not be meeting U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris during this trip.
