RVIPF’s recent stop-and-search operations yielding positive results

The recent stop-and-search traffic operations conducted by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) have proven successful with more than 30 offenders already discovered for October.
This is according to a media release from the RVIPF late Tuesday, October 6.

Police said the RVIPF yielded 21 traffic-related tickets, confiscated seven motorcycles, and arrested four persons on drug possession charges.

The police also stated several serious traffic-related offences were committed last month.

“During the month of September, one male was charged with reckless driving and unlawful possession of a controlled drug,” the RVIPF reported.

“Another male was also charged for reckless driving, driving when not covered by insurance, failing to apply for change of ownership of vehicle, driving without a rear license plate, failing to stop at the sound of a siren, and driving an unlicensed vehicle,” the local police added.

At the end of September, several charges were made against two other males, the RVIPF reported.

The first was jointly charged for reckless driving, possession of a controlled drug, possession with intent to supply, and driving when not covered by a policy of insurance.

The second male was charged for dangerous driving and failing to stop at the sound of the siren.
