Theresa May Admits Mistakes Over Immigration Policies

Former Prime Minister Theresa May admitted mistakes over her 'hostile environment' immigration policies, particularly affecting the Windrush generation. She acknowledged errors with the 2013 Home Office vans and reflected on Donald Trump's 'unpredictability' as US president. Her comments come as she prepares to step down as Maidenhead MP at the next general election.
Former Prime Minister Theresa May, set to step down as Maidenhead MP at the next general election, has admitted to making mistakes regarding her 'hostile environment' policies for illegal immigration.

She acknowledged unforeseen issues affecting legal immigrants, including the Windrush generation, and deemed the 2013 Home Office vans with 'Go home or face arrest' slogans as 'wrong.' May, who was Home Secretary from 2010 to 2016, apologized in 2018 for the injustices faced by Windrush immigrants and took responsibility for missing documentation demands that led to deportation threats.

In a recent ITV documentary, 'Theresa May: The Accidental Prime Minister,' she also called Donald Trump an 'unpredictable' president, which complicated international relations.

The documentary will air on 5 June.
