Justice Department lawsuit claims Adobe hid details of expensive cancellation fees, making it difficult for consumers to cancel subscriptions to Photoshop and other software.
The U.S. Justice Department has sued Adobe, alleging the company made it hard for consumers to cancel subscriptions to Photoshop and other software. The lawsuit claims Adobe hid expensive cancellation fees in fine print and behind optional text boxes.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the suit names Adobe executives David Wadhwani and Maninder Sawhney as defendants. This follows a similar FTC lawsuit against Amazon last year over Prime membership cancellations.
These actions are part of a broader effort to regulate Big Tech, with antitrust lawsuits already filed against Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Meta. Last year, Adobe dropped a $20 billion purchase of design startup Figma due to regulatory resistance.
