The Government of the Virgin Islands is now offering COVID-19 vaccination and booster shots to residents of Virgin Gorda today, Saturday, January 15.
An infomercial flier on the drive informed that it will take place at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.
It also reminded persons to walk with a form of Government identification such as a driver’s license or an NHI card for verification purposes.
In the meantime, Premier and Minister for Finance, Hon. Andrew
Fahie said several legislators have joined in to assist with the ongoing drive.
He said “Today in Virgin Gorda the staff of the BVIHSA, together with the assistance and contributions of Hon. Vincent Wheatley, Hon. Shereen Flax-Charles, Hon. Neville Smith, the Valley Sound Lions and other volunteers are administering
Pfizer and
AstraZeneca vaccines at the Nurse Iris O'Neal Center. Deputy Premier Hon. Natalio Wheatley was also present and dropped by in time to assist with the placement of the tents. We're in this together with BVILOVE!!!”
He continued: “Working together is the key to our success. Everyone in Virgin Gorda from ages 12 to 100 are welcome to get their 1st, 2nd or 3rd dose of
vaccine. Come on over and make the choice to get vaccinated or get your booster shot! Do your part!”
On December 16, the BVI received some 4,680 doses of
Pfizer and 2,000 doses of
AstraZeneca vaccines from the United Kingdom to aid in its fight against the
COVID-19 virus.
