Vice President Vance to Headline Turning Point USA Campus Event at Ole Miss
JD Vance and Erika Kirk will speak at the University of Mississippi on October 29 as part of the organisation’s renewed tour honouring Charlie Kirk.
The Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, will appear on Wednesday, October 29 at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, as part of a campus event organised by the student chapter of Turning Point USA.
He will be joined by Erika Kirk, widow of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk and newly appointed CEO of the organisation, in what has been confirmed as her sole appearance on the tour.
The gathering, labelled “This Is the Turning Point Tour,” constitutes the resumed national series of college engagements following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk on September 10 while addressing students at Utah Valley University.
Vance, who described the event as a continuation of Kirk’s campus-engagement mission, said his intent is to combine a brief address with an extended question-and-answer session with students.
Admission to the event is complementary, with registrations required ahead of time and free ticketing offered, with priority given to students.
The venue will open its doors at 3 p.m. Central Time, with the formal programme set to commence at 5 p.m. Central Time.
Organisers have indicated that, in light of recent events, heightened security measures will be in place, including screening and magnetometer checks at entry.
The announcement underscores the close alliance between Turning Point USA and senior conservative figures, as the group seeks to chart its next phase following its founder’s death.
At the event in Oxford, the campus tour and leadership transition will be made tangible through the visible presence of both the Vice President and Erika Kirk.
During his remarks on a recent appearance on The Charlie Kirk Show, Vance said: “Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive.
And nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all just sort of take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone.”
By selecting the University of Mississippi as the location for this significant appearance, Turning Point USA highlights its ongoing commitment to campus engagement and conservative activism among young adults.
For Vance, the opportunity reflects both his personal connection to Kirk and his broader role in outreach to student audiences on issues of the day.
The event also signals a moment of continuity: with Erika Kirk stepping into leadership and Vance stepping onto the campus stage, the movement hopes to both honour its past and chart a bold forward path.
Registration details indicate that each attendee may register only one mobile number.
Student ticketing is free and general admission tickets are also available, based on capacity and wait-list conditions.
The official page lists the venue as the Sandy & John Black Pavilion at the University of Mississippi.
Doors open at 3 p.m., the programme begins at 5 p.m., and all entrants will be subject to screening.
With expectations cited by organisers of up to nine thousand to ten thousand participants, the event in Oxford is poised to serve as a high-profile platform for conservative campus mobilisation at a pivotal juncture for the organisation and its political allies.
