War Veteran Jaimez A. J. Stoutt laid to rest with military honour

Hundreds physically present at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Center at Baughers Bay and at the Greenland Cemetery, witnessed War Veteran Jaimez A. J. Stoutt being laid to rest with military honour, today, Saturday, January 8, 2022.

The 31-year-old was shot and killed in the early morning hour of December 11, 2021, while a patron at Crystal Nightclub and Sports Bar in Free Bottom on the main island of Tortola.

Mr Stoutt who was an army veteran after joining the US Army in 2009, was also an army paratrooper and served in Afghanistan in the year 2011.

In 2015, the army veteran was also featured as a Young Professional on Virgin Islands News Online (VINO).

Jaimez A.J. Stoutt joined the US Army in 2009 and was trained in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

His burial saw his casket being draped with the flag of the USA was subsequently presented to his mother Mrs Joyclyn Lennard.

While in the US army Stoutt received badges for Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Chilean Parachutist Badge, Nato Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defence Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and a Parachutist Badge.

While in the US army he received badges for Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, a Chilean Parachutist Badge, Nato Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defence Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Parachutist Badge.

During his funeral earlier today, the world also heard of his love for humanity, his heroic attributes with special mention of how he helped save the lives of loved ones during the passage of hurricane Irma in 2017.

Present at the church service today were also House of Assembly officials including Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7); Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities Hon Kye R. Rymer and House Speaker, Hon Julian Willock.
