After Four Years, and Under a Heavy Veil of Secrecy: King Charles Meets His Grandchildren, Harry and Meghan's Children

King Charles and his wife, Camilla (his former mistress), secretly hosted Harry, Meghan and their two children at their Highgrove residence for a family reunion they had all reportedly awaited for a long time. Could this be the beginning of a new era of reconciliation that will repair the British Royal Family's poor and miserable family values?

After weeks of endless rumors, reports, chatter from supposedly well-informed insiders, and mounting suspense, Meghan Markle and her two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, joined Prince Harry, who has been in Britain since last Monday.

And that's not all.

On Friday, it was reported that, after four years, it had finally happened: King Charles III was reunited with his two grandchildren, whom he had not seen since 2022, when Harry and his family traveled to Britain for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The meeting was conducted under the strictest secrecy.

King Charles and his wife, Camilla (his former mistress), secretly hosted Harry, Meghan and their two children at their Highgrove residence for a family reunion they had all reportedly awaited for a long time.

The gathering took place at the King's private home in Gloucestershire.

The meeting was organized under a heavy veil of secrecy, accompanied by extensive briefings provided to the media.

Even so, we have little doubt that within hours numerous details from the emotional reunion will be leaked—and, naturally, we will continue following every development.

It is worth recalling that Charles has not seen Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who live in California, since 2022, when they were only three years old and one year old.

Charles most recently met Harry, now forty-one, in September last year.

Earlier this week, however, he was forced to publicly rebuke his son after Harry's public relations team falsely briefed the media that he had accepted an invitation to stay at Buckingham Palace during his current visit to Britain.

In reality, Harry waited several weeks before responding to his father's invitation.

By the time he finally replied, it was already too late.

Meghan and the two children arrived in Britain without attracting attention after leaving the family's holiday home in Europe.

Buckingham Palace declined to provide additional details about what it described as "a private family event." It also confirmed that no photographs from the meeting would be released.

The emotional reunion is expected to be seen as a sign that relations within the Royal Family may finally be beginning to thaw.

Even so, palace officials are expected to watch the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's next move very closely.

It was also reported that the King and his senior advisers had always hoped for a quiet and discreet family reconciliation.

However, weeks of leaks and media briefings attributed to Harry and Meghan's team have reportedly left them "tired and suspicious."

Still, despite Harry's conduct toward his father and the treatment Charles has received from him—including a succession of interviews, documentaries and an autobiography full of filth directed at the King and Camilla—people familiar with the matter described the situation as "sad" for the seventy-seven-year-old monarch, who continues to battle cancer while still hoping for a happy ending for his family.

At the time of writing, it remains unknown what Prince William will ultimately decide, and whether he will give in to the pleas of his wife, Kate Middleton, and meet Harry, Meghan and their children, or whether he will continue to stand his ground.

Could this be the beginning of a new era of reconciliation that will repair the British Royal Family's poor and miserable family values?
