Boris Johnson: Trump's Possible Return Could Be a 'Big Win for the World'

Boris Johnson, the former Prime Minister of the UK, has expressed his support for Donald Trump's potential return to the presidency, asserting it could benefit the world if Trump maintains his support for Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia.
In his recent column for the Daily Mail, Johnson emphasized the need to accept the possibility of Trump's comeback, citing that his unpredictable leadership and endorsement of free markets could deter adversaries of the West and foster a trade deal with the UK.

Despite concerns over Trump's previous admiration for Russia's Putin and the potential risk of reduced U.S. aid to Ukraine, Johnson remains confident Trump will continue to back Ukraine, referencing Trump's past provision of Javelin anti-tank missiles.

Johnson's backing of Trump aligns him with other right-leaning European politicians like Hungary's Viktor Orbán, who openly supports Trump. However, much of Europe's leadership, including European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, is apprehensive about Trump's potential second term, fearing its impact on the EU.

Nonetheless, Trump is gaining momentum in the U.S., having won the Iowa caucuses decisively. Johnson noted the anxious response from the global elite to this progress, especially at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, yet predicts Trump is the likely Republican nominee and a serious contender for the presidency once again.
