Sam Farrow, a 31-year-old British endurance swimmer from Wigan, achieved a new record for the fastest swim across Lake Geneva.
She completed the 45.2-mile (72.8 km) distance from Château de Chillon to Bains des Pâquis in 22 hours and 48 minutes.
This remarkable swim required her to tread water during breaks and endure severe fatigue, back aches, and cramps.
Farrow's previous swims included Loch Awe, Loch Lomond, and Loch Ness in Scotland.
She balanced her rigorous training regimen with her responsibilities as an infant feeding practitioner and a mother of two.
The record is pending official ratification in late September.
