Labour has committed to creating more than 100,000 new nursery places for children from nine months old to primary school age. This initiative includes converting underused primary school classrooms, with a total cost of one hundred forty million pounds, funded by levying VAT on private school fees. The plan aims to help parents, especially mothers, to rejoin the workforce by addressing childcare shortages.
