Hacker Jailed for Creating Malware Targeting Braintree Jobcentre
A university student named Amar Tagore, aged 21, from West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, has been jailed for 21 months after creating malware that targeted government and corporate websites. Tagore earned nearly forty-five thousand pounds from selling the software and was involved in cyber attacks against a Jobcentre in Braintree, Essex. He was sentenced at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

Tagore's malicious software was used in cyber attacks, including distributed denial of services (DDoS) attacks, against a Jobcentre in Braintree, Essex, between May and August 2022.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) alerted the authorities after discovering these repeated attacks.
Tagore earned £44,433 from selling the malware and was found guilty of a computer misuse offence and breaching proceeds of crime legislation.
He was sentenced at Dumbarton Sheriff Court and will also face confiscation action.
