The Met Office has issued yellow thunderstorm warnings for parts of the UK, with regions potentially experiencing up to three inches of rain on Monday.
The yellow warning, which started early Sunday, will be in effect until Tuesday, covering most of England, eastern Wales, and eastern Scotland.
Meteorologist Marco Petagna cited low pressure over the UK as the cause, predicting heavy, thundery showers primarily in central and eastern areas.
The weather conditions could lead to flash flooding, lightning strikes, and travel disruptions.
Sunday's downpour saw up to 25mm of rain in Dorset, while Monday may bring 30-40mm of rain per hour in some areas.
Temperatures are expected to hit 25C in the south-east but will be cooler in the north.
Following lighter showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, more thunderstorms are forecast for southern England starting Thursday.
