The United Kingdom has imposed new sanctions on Russian oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft, along with measures targeting the so-called shadow fleet used to evade Western restrictions.

Officials say the sanctions aim to further limit Moscow’s ability to fund its war in Ukraine by tightening controls on energy exports and shipping networks.

The move is part of a coordinated international effort to weaken Russia’s financial resilience and enforce compliance with global trade laws.
