Elon Musk recently revealed information on X showing that the United States Social Security database contains over twenty million individuals who are one hundred years old or older, with their death status indicated as false.
His post reveals that there are more than 3.9 million entries for those aged 130 to 139, over 3.5 million for ages 140 to 149, and more than 1.3 million for people aged 150 to 159.
Fox News Digital contacted the Social Security Administration for a response, while the United States Census Bureau's data from the 2020 census indicates that there were more than 80,000 individuals aged 100 and older.
In a related move, President
Donald Trump has named Musk to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, which is focused on identifying and rectifying waste, fraud, and abuse within federal government operations.
This appointment is part of broader efforts to assess and improve administrative procedures throughout federal agencies.
Musk's data shared on X has triggered a more detailed examination of the Social Security system's internal records as federal officials strive to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the information.
