A woman shot dead on a residential street in South Wales has been identified as Joanne Penney, according to police reports.
Officers were dispatched to Llys Illtyd in Talbot Green at approximately 6:10 PM on Sunday following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, authorities found a 40-year-old woman suffering from severe injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 42-year-old man from Talbot Green has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police confirmed that formal identification of the victim has not yet been completed, although Ms. Penney's next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialized officers.
Detective Chief Superintendent Ceri Hughes provided assurances to the local community regarding the ongoing investigation.
