Louis Malone appointed Member of Public Service Commission

Mr Louis Malone is the newest member of the Public Service Commission, appointed effective August 23, 2022.
Mr Malone whose appointment is in accordance with section 91 (1) (d) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007, took an Oath of Secrecy on August 24.

According to Mr Malone, this new appointment allows him to continue his goal of service to the public and Virgin Islands.

“When I returned home after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, my primary thought as it related to work was I would continue to serve. It did not work out that way until now. The call to serve in this capacity could not have come at a better time,” Mr Malone said.

He added, “My family roots here in the Virgin Islands run deep. So, I am definitely honoured and grateful for the opportunity to make a contribution and continue the legacy of those who have gone before me in making these Virgin Islands a great place for all of us to live. I believe all of us can make a positive contribution.”

Mr Malone previously held the roles of Human Resources Manager and Warehouse and Logistics Manager at Pusser’s, as well as serving as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force.

The role of the Public Service Commission is to provide advice on appointments to public offices and to remove and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding or acting in such offices in consultation with His Excellency the Governor.
