Murder Investigation Underway After Fatal Attack in Luton
Authorities Seek Man Following Targeted Incident Resulting in One Fatality and Another Injury
A murder investigation has been initiated by Bedfordshire Police after a 46-year-old woman died in hospital following an incident on Turners Road North in Luton.
The altercation occurred around 11:45 AM on Monday, with police receiving reports of the incident shortly thereafter.
A second woman, in her 20s, was also injured in the event but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police believe the incident was targeted, and efforts are currently underway to locate a suspect described as a white man in his 20s.
This individual was observed leaving the scene at the time of the incident.
He is described as being between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, of a very slim build, with a shaved head.
At the time, he was wearing all-black clothing featuring a hood.
The suspect reportedly left on a black and red electric scooter, which authorities have since recovered.
Detective Inspector Adam Bridges stated the urgency in locating the perpetrator, emphasizing the dedication of specialist teams and resources to the ongoing search.
In response to the incident, Bedfordshire Police have increased their presence at the scene and the surrounding area to assist with the investigation and provide public reassurance.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident, or who may have seen an individual matching the suspect's description acting suspiciously, to contact them urgently using 999 and referencing Operation Wroxham.
