Three Teenage Girls Charged with Manslaughter Following Fatal Attack in Islington

Three teenage girls have been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of 75-year-old Fredi Rivero, who succumbed to injuries sustained during an attack on Seven Sisters Road in Islington, north London.
The incident occurred around 23:35 GMT on Thursday, and Mr. Rivero passed away in hospital the following day.
The alleged perpetrators, aged 14, 16, and 17, were initially taken into custody on Thursday, with the Metropolitan Police initially suspecting them of grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Due to their ages, the names of the individuals cannot be revealed.
They are scheduled to appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court on the upcoming Monday.
Authorities have stated that Mr. Rivero's family is receiving support from police officers.
A post-mortem examination is set to be conducted in the near future to determine the cause of death.
In an official statement, Supt. Annmarie Cowley acknowledged the community's likely shock and concern following the incident, reiterating that a comprehensive police investigation is underway.
