U.S. Attorney General Announces Task Force to Prosecute Government Fraud

Pam Bondi warns of legal action as Cabinet highlights findings of extensive fraud, including fraudulent loans uncovered through DOGE initiative led by Elon Musk
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the formation of an internal task force to prosecute individuals involved in government fraud, during a Cabinet meeting held at the White House on March 24, 2025. The meeting, attended by President Donald Trump and senior officials, focused on findings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative supported by Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Bondi stated that the task force is collaborating with every federal agency represented at the Cabinet level and issued a direct warning to those engaged in fraudulent activity: "We will prosecute you.

If you've committed fraud, we're coming after you."

Elon Musk, who has been working in partnership with the DOGE initiative, reported the discovery of significant financial irregularities within the Small Business Administration (SBA).

According to Musk, approximately three hundred thirty million dollars in loans were allegedly issued to recipients under the age of eleven.

He cited one instance involving a nine-month-old listed as having received a one hundred thousand dollar loan.

President Trump acknowledged the DOGE initiative’s findings and credited Musk and federal officials for helping expose fraud across various government agencies.

Trump stated that numerous fraudulent contracts had been identified and halted as a result of the collaboration.

During the meeting, Bondi also outlined a policy shift under the Trump administration directing the Department of Justice to pursue the death penalty in federal cases involving violent crimes.

She stated that ninety-four U.S. attorneys across the country would be enforcing this policy and that it would also target individuals involved in drug-related offenses.

The Cabinet meeting included senior officials such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon.

The event was held in the context of broader discussions surrounding government oversight, criminal prosecution, and departmental accountability.
