Two Critical Following Paddington Car Crash During Police Pursuit
A police chase in west London resulted in a serious crash, leaving two individuals in critical condition.
Two individuals are receiving critical medical treatment after being involved in a car crash following a police chase in Paddington, west London.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 AM on Saturday when a driver failed to stop for a marked Metropolitan Police vehicle near Westbourne Terrace.
Following a brief pursuit, the car crashed through a barrier and became lodged on the pavement.
The occupants of the vehicle, a man and a woman in their 20s, were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Metropolitan Police further reported that the woman sustained life-changing injuries as a result of the crash, and both individuals continue to receive medical attention.
In response to the incident, an investigator from the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) stated that they were notified by the Metropolitan Police and dispatched investigators to the scene and the police post-incident procedure to gather initial accounts from the officers involved.
The IOPC has requested additional information from the police, which will inform any further actions that may be necessary.
