Ukraine is set to present its "victory plan" at the upcoming meeting with its allies at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on October 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in a Telegram post on Saturday.
"We will present the victory plan, with clear, specific steps for a just end to the war," Zelenskyy wrote.
Ukraine, which has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for nearly 1,000 days, has hinted at a plan to conclude the war in recent months. While details have not been made public, Zelenskyy shared the proposal with US President
Joe Biden and both major presidential candidates during his recent visit to Washington.
A US State Department spokesperson described the plan as containing "a number of productive steps" that the US will continue to engage with Ukraine on.
However, the Wall Street Journal have expressed skepticism. They suggest that the plan may simply repackage requests for more weapons and the lifting of restrictions on long-range missile use, raising questions about whether the real goal is to end the war or continue profiting from aid and arms deals.
