T.B. Lettsome International Airport Reopens Following Cargo Plane Incident

T.B. Lettsome International Airport Resumes Normal Operations Following Cargo Plane Incident The BVI Airports Authority has announced that the T.B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island has resumed normal operations following an incident involving a cargo plane.
The incident occurred when a cargo plane blew a tire upon landing at the airport, resulting in the aircraft being disabled on runway 25.

The Managing Director of the BVI Airports Authority, Kurt Manel, stated that repair works have been completed on the cargo aircraft, and normal operations have resumed.

The authority is working with an operator to arrange for the delivery of spare parts to allow for repairs and the removal of the aircraft.

The closure of the airport has resulted in disruptions across airline networks.

However, the BVI Airports Authority hopes to resume operations by 1 pm today, ahead of the arrival of American Airlines' direct flight from Miami.

The incident occurred just two days after the inaugural direct commercial flights between the British Virgin Islands and Miami were launched.

Thankfully, the inaugural flights were not affected by the incident.

In conclusion, the T.B. Lettsome International Airport has resumed normal operations following the incident involving a cargo plane.

The BVI Airports Authority is working to minimize the impact of the closure and to resume operations as soon as possible.
