Over 800 users report internet connectivity problems as partner CityFibre faces outages.
On the morning of March 12, 2025, Vodafone customers reported widespread issues with their broadband service, prompted by an outage at the company’s infrastructure partner, CityFibre.
Service status website Down Detector noted that more than 800 customers flagged connectivity issues starting just before 8 AM. Among those reporting problems, approximately 14% indicated they faced a 'total blackout' of service.
In response to the incident, Vodafone issued an apology to affected customers, confirming the outage was linked to difficulties experienced by CityFibre.
A Vodafone spokesperson stated, 'We’re sorry to customers for the inconvenience,' and assured that the issue was resolved promptly, with services restored by 9:30 AM. CityFibre reported that its network encountered intermittent problems due to a configuration issue, which was swiftly addressed.
A representative from CityFibre confirmed that all services were back online by 9:30 AM and expressed regret over any disruption caused to customers.
During the outage, many users took to social media platform X to voice their frustrations, with some seeking updates on the status of the service restoration, highlighting the impact of the situation on their connectivity.
