At least ten individuals have been confirmed deceased following a shooting at Risbergska School in Örebro, Sweden, on Tuesday.

Authorities have indicated that the suspect, a male, is thought to be among the deceased.

The police have informed that the assailant acted independently, although the investigation is still in its initial phases, and no terrorist motive has been established.

Local police chief Roberto Eid Forest stated that the suspect is not recognized by law enforcement.

Previously a high school, the school now operates as a municipal center for adult learners and caters to approximately 2,000 students.

The police operation is ongoing, with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson characterizing the day as "painful for all of Sweden." The Swedish government is maintaining close communication with law enforcement as the investigation unfolds.

Authorities have requested that the public refrain from entering the Västhaga area in Örebro and remain indoors.
