Russell Brand Charged with Multiple Sexual Offences
Comedian and actor faces charges including rape and sexual assault involving four women between 1999 and 2005
The Metropolitan Police have charged Russell Brand, 50, with several sexual offences alleged to have occurred between 1999 and 2005. The charges include one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault, involving four separate women.
The alleged incidents took place in locations including Bournemouth and Westminster, London.
Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on May 2, 2025. In response to the charges, Brand released a video statement denying the allegations, asserting that all his past relationships were consensual.
The investigation began in September 2023 following reports from multiple women and subsequent media coverage.
