Huw Edwards Charged for Indecent Images of Children
Former BBC News presenter Huw Edwards has been charged with three counts of making indecent images of children. The alleged offences occurred between 2020 and 2022 and relate to 37 images shared on WhatsApp. Edwards was arrested last November and charged last month; he is due to appear in court in London.

The Metropolitan Police allege the offences occurred between 2020 and 2022, involving 37 images shared on WhatsApp.
Edwards, aged 62 from Southwark, London, was arrested on 8th November 2023 and charged on 26th June 2023, following authorization from the Crown Prosecution Service.
He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 31st July.
The charges include possessing six category A images, twelve category B images, and nineteen category C images.
A conviction could result in several years of imprisonment.
Huw Edwards left the BBC in April after a distinguished career as one of its prominent news anchors.
