Staffordshire Couple Found Dead in Spain's Worst Flooding Disaster
Don and Terri Turner Among 217 Victims of Valencia Floods
A missing British couple, Don Turner, 78, and his wife Terri, 74, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, were found dead in their car following flash floods in Spain.
The couple disappeared after heavy rainstorms struck the Valencia region.
Their daughter, Ruth O'Loughlin, confirmed their deaths and expressed heartbreak, having hoped they were safe.
The Turners had lived near Pedralba for a decade, drawn by the sunny weather.
Spain is grappling with its worst flooding in generations, which has claimed 217 lives.
Another British national, a 71-year-old man, also died due to the floods near Málaga.
The Spanish authorities face criticism for insufficient warnings, as emergency responders continue to search affected areas, including flooded car parks and garages.
The country's king and queen encountered protests during their visit to the impacted town of Paiporta.
The British Consulate is supporting the Turners' family.
